Sew-in, braids or crochet: how each install works

Every pack of our curly hair bundles works for a leave-out sew-in or a knotless/boho braid install, and for crochet installs too. Here's what each one involves.

Leave-out sew-in

For a blended look, bundles are sewed onto cornrowed tracks with your own hair left out on top. It's worth hiring a sew-in specialist. Ensure you adequately protect your natural hair with heat protectant when styling to minimise breakage.

Knotless / boho braid

Strands of our bio fiber hair are fed into knotless braids from the root, so you get a fuller braid without the tension of a knotted start.

Crochet install

For a crochet install, the hair comes off the bundles first. Cut it from the bundle, then thread it through with a crochet needle. One pack still does a full head, and the same care applies: work it damp, from the ends up.

How long it lasts

Three months of regular wear is realistic, and longer if you look after it.

The single biggest thing you can do for it: this hair loves water. Comb it and style it wet, working from the ends up, and it holds its pattern far longer. Combing it dry is what pulls the curl open, and once it's open it won't tighten back up. When it's looking flat, a spritz of water brings it back to life: scrunch it in and let it air-dry.

Beyond that, treat it like your own hair. Wrap it at night, and go easy on heat.
